Maharashtra released the lockdown guidelines on Tuesday. The state has restricted all non-essential employees from the movement. As part of the new guidelines, the state authorities have also restricted the sale of non-essential goods in e-commerce.
Currently, all of the major ecommerce websites like Amazon.in, Flipkart, JioMart, and Reliance Digital are not taking orders for non-essential items from categories such as electronics, fashion, furniture, and more. The only exceptions are services and activities that fall into the “essential category”.
Amazon.in is no longer accepting orders for PIN codes in Maharashtra. The website has a banner at the top of their website that reads, “Given the latest government guidelines, we only take orders for essential products.” As more and more users could switch to digital means to buy the essentials, the Amazon site is also claiming that “deliveries may take longer than normal”.

Reliance Digital has also claimed that “because of the government. Restrictions, the delivery to this PIN code is currently suspended. “Deliveries will not resume until the government allows it.
Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray said most facilities and public places in the state will be closed, except for those deemed essential, including grocery stores, hospitals, banks and stock exchanges.
In addition, CM Thackeray stated: “All major industries must be fully utilized. All facilities and public places remain closed, with the exception of the most important ones.
With regard to the delivery of restaurants, the new guidelines clearly state: “Only home delivery services are allowed and no restaurants or bars may be visited for the purpose of ordering or for collection.”
