Critical Role’s main game may be on hold for the summer, but Exandria Unlimited will do more than just get the fans to invest in the franchise.

Critical roleCampaign two ended when summer started, but the franchise makers had no intention of keeping fans waiting until campaign three without something to bridge them. Fans who have been around since the first campaign know that there was a huge gap in programming prior to the start of the second game as Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer needed time to prepare while players worked on new characters.
Nowadays, Critical role is a well-oiled machine. Before the end of the first campaign, they started making teasers for a short campaign called. to share Exandria Unlimited That would take fans of the iconic world and their beloved NPCs through the summer months while they waited for the third campaign. With new and familiar faces EU brought brand new Game Master Aabria Iyengar to the table to guide five young adventurers through an eight-part mini-campaign.
First time in Critical role History Matt Mercer can sit next to fellow players at the table and immerse himself in the story as a character, while Aabria Iyengar leads the adventure. Accompanied by Critical role Regulars Ashley Johnson and Liam O’Brien and new players Robbie Daymond and Aimee Carrero, Iyengar, staged the mini-campaign in the town of Emon about six years after the adventures of the Mighty No.
Although it has been almost three decades since Vox Machina defeated the Ash King of the Chroma Conclave at Emon, the city is still recovering from the havoc wrought by the four Chromatic Dragons that descended and began upon the adventurer’s home to tear them to pieces before Thordak took to live there until the final confrontation. Marked by the dramatic event in the city’s history, the residents of Emon are still suffering from the aftermath of that time, as seen in the first episode of the campaign when the party first met a mysterious thief named Poska who claimed to be leader to be of a known underground theft organization as the Nameless.
When Poska’s group failed to steal a worthy item and give it to her to prove their trustworthiness, they discovered a powerful remnant of the Spider Queen’s divergence. Deciding to keep the mysterious circlet to themselves, they faced an attack at Poska’s warehouse that inevitably resulted in them stealing a bunch of debris that the Nameless probably wanted to turn into drug addiction.
Escaping the city and Poska’s henchmen, they followed O’brien’s Ashari character to the Fire Ashari camp outside of town in hopes of helping them, only to find out that the Fire Ashari had a whole new problem. When it began to rain ashes, a mysterious plateau rose from the ground behind the camp, prompting the leader of the Fire Ashari to send the group to investigate. When the Ashari discovered a mysterious symbol at the site of the rift (referred to by the players as the “ash hole”) from which the plateau appeared, they sent them back to Emon to meet with the legendary wizard of the first campaign, Shaun Gilmore from Gilmore’s Glorious Goods.
Just three episodes in the mini campaign, and the game is already jam-packed with high stakes and unforgettable moments. While it’s doubtful that this was intentional when the game first launched, the entire group seems to be oblivious to pretty much anything but one character. Successive low roles in things like insight and examining has more or less pushed her into several ridiculously sticky situations that they barely scratch through with the skin of their teeth. The character’s antics, as well as the perfectly executed role-playing game, exceed expectations and guarantee that fans will absolutely beg for their return if these characters don’t die before the end of the game.
