Bucks County Commissioners have agreed to continue their contract to provide COVID-19 vaccinations.

At their meeting on Wednesday, the commissioners unanimously agreed to an extension from August 1 to December 31 with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare of Reston, Virginia. The contract will be paid for with federal aid to Covid-19 dollars.

While medical centers and pharmacies across the county offer vaccinations, county government-sponsored websites, pop-up events, and mobile vaccination strikes continue to operate.

As the demand for vaccines subsided, the county-sponsored locations have dropped from five to two, open at Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem Township and a mall in Warwick Township.

The county began working with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare to open test sites in January and expanded the partnership in February as vaccination efforts intensified. The state has been working with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare since last year.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, 307,844 Bucks Countians are fully vaccinated and 37,079 are partially covered.
