FCA improves the online retail experience
AUBURN HILLS, me., Oct 21, 2020 / PRNewswire / –
- Online Retailing Experience is now called E-Shop
- Test drive appointments, online chats and other features to be added to the e-shop
FCA improves the ability of consumers to purchase a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, Fiat or Alfa Romeo vehicle over the Internet by adding to the online retail experience now known as the e-shop, offers several new functions.
“Six months ago we brought forward the launch of the e-shop to help our retailers who were trying to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said US sales director Jeff Kommor. “We didn’t yet know what a powerful tool would become from the e-shop. About 45 percent of FCA’s monthly revenue came from an Internet lead; last year it was about 25 percent. Consumers say e-shop gives them more transparency while retailers say it does the whole process, including home delivery, allows them to build strong bonds with the buyer. “
E-Shop is a premium one-stop platform that gives customers a comprehensive choice and the ability to complete the entire vehicle purchase process online, including pricing information, trade-in value of the current vehicle, financing options, electronic signature to complete the final paperwork and in most Cases planning home delivery. The e-shop is accessible through the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat and Alfa Romeo websites, participating dealer websites and a variety of social media applications.
Online shopping traffic in the retailer network has increased by more than 65 percent since the introduction of the e-shop. Customers who complete the process online spend less time at the dealership and more time learning about the new features of their vehicle, which makes the buying process more enjoyable.
“We have always imagined the e-shop as a digital backbone on which we can add new, ultra-modern elements that put the customer first,” says Marissa Hunter, Head of Marketing, FCA – North America. “E-commerce is still an integral part of our marketing suite and offers the public the opportunity to experience and shop our brands from the comfort of their own home. We’re just getting started. Internal intelligence, early feedback from customers and dealers characterize the next phase of the e-shop and give our brands and dealer organizations a sophisticated online tool to increase enthusiasm, affinity and trust in the purchasing process. “
Other functions will be:
- Online chats – Starting today, consumers can have their questions answered in real time via online chat
- Dates for test drives – Buyers can schedule a time to test drive a vehicle before entering a showroom, reducing the waiting time for time-limited consumers. This feature will be available from December
- Reservations – In a service built into PayPal, shoppers who see a vehicle online can access their PayPal accounts to make a refundable reservation. This feature will be available from November
- Certified used cars / used car sales – Dealers have the option of listing their entire certified stock of used and used vehicles in the e-shop. This feature will be available from December
FCA and its dealers are committed to making e-shop one of the most competitive tools in the automotive industry. The e-shop is constantly being expanded to include new technologies designed to improve customer comfort.
