Web hosting company GoDaddy has expanded GoDaddy Payments with the introduction of two point-of-sale (POS) devices, including a Press release.

The first device is the GoDaddy Smart Terminal that works for brick and mortar businesses, the press release said. It’s double-shielded and doesn’t require pivoting screens, and companies can customize it with their logo to bolster their brands. It also has a hidden built-in printer for receipts.

The second device is the GoDaddy Card Reader, which according to the release comes with a docking station. It can be used for on-the-go payments at farmers markets and other similar locations. It contains a swipe, chip and tap function in one and works with the GoDaddy mobile app. Its battery life can last a full day.

The new technology comes from the company’s December acquisition of Poynt, which was incorporated into GoDaddy’s online sales software, the press release said. The goal is to give small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) a head start in selling, tracking, and managing sales in more places.

In addition, it enables retailers to operate both offline and online and, according to the press release, to sell “anything and anywhere”.

GoDaddy has also launched the full GoDaddy Payments solution, which will save SMB owners more money, the press release said. With this program, customers are charged a 2.3% transaction fee, although online transactions add 30 cents. The idea behind the program is to make transactions “quick and easy”.

“GoDaddy’s new point of sale offerings improve our customers’ ability to sell and grow anywhere,” said GoDaddy President of Commerce Osama Bedier when releasing. “Our goal is to offer small businesses the most powerful yet user-friendly commerce solutions at an unbeatable price. And we’re just getting started. “

Last month GoDaddy introduced pay-link and virtual terminal features.
