Interswitch gives product developers access to APIs for increased productivity
Africa’s leading integrated payments and digital commerce company, Interswitch, provides technology developers in Nigeria with the appropriate tools to create new digital products and solutions with ease.
At the Interswitch Developers’ Summit, held in Abuja on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, developers from across the city gathered to learn more about the remarkable opportunities offered by Interswitch Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs).
Speaking to the group of developers at the summit, Tochukwu Achebe, Product and Developers Relations Executive at Interswitch, said, The API plug-in enables companies to share their Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), Quick Response (QR) codes, and generate wallets.
He said the API will enable developers across Africa to seamlessly innovate and automate their businesses regardless of the type of services offered, and hinted that the API marketplace will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2022
Achebe said, “With our developer community, we are building an ecosystem where we can receive feedback, get our solutions to market quickly, and create a way for everyone to seamlessly integrate and build their solutions around the APIs. We also created a sandbox so developers can test API endpoints and confirm their effectiveness.”
Also, Interswitch Group Head, Business, Merchant Acquiring Jeffrey Williams-Edem said the organization has created a platform and ecosystem that enables developers to build point-of-sale (POS) applications.
He listed some of the recent improvements made to the Quickteller payment platform and POS terminals.
According to Williams-Edem, users of the Quickteller Business app can view real-time data on billing and refunds, and also initiate dispute resolution. He added that the store front; payment link; electronic invoicing; transaction status; Customer data and insights paired with web and POS payments are some of the features that have been integrated into the platform.
“We remain committed in our quest to be an African payments gateway that enables prosperity in Africa by enabling businesses and individuals to seamlessly trade tokens and wallets to make payments at Interswitch Point of Sales (POS) terminals or to transact gateways,” Williams-Edem said.
He added, “Interswitch is building an ecosystem where there will be around 5,000 different micro-applications on POS terminals for merchants.”
He explained that merchants have been given the ability to automate taxes and other deductions based on their existing business partnerships.
To make purchasing easier for customers, he said the organization has developed a value financing initiative in partnership with lenders, adding that the initiative will be unveiled soon.
“Fraud management is essential today, and Interswitch offers an enterprise solution that allows you to protect your funds using two-factor authentication and a one-time password,” added Williams-Edem.
As a payment gateway, Edem stated that it has acquired all the necessary certifications for businesses to operate efficiently and has unlocked multiple payment options, making it easier for businesses to accept payments.
Interswitch makes resources available to developers through a variety of APIs that improve people’s lives, foster collaboration through its developer community, and build Africa’s digital ecosystem.
