Noida: 5 arrested for doing promising jobs in MNCs

Noida police arrested five people on Friday for running a job racket offering positions in multinational companies.

The defendants were identified as Vishal, Vijay Singh, Sajid Khan, Akshay and Mohit Sharma and were arrested in a building in Sector 3 from where they started the brawl, police said.

According to Sector 20 police officers, the defendant had purchased data on registered cell phone users from a website called Shine. The defendants would prepare lucrative bogus jobs in MNCs across India and abroad that would be sent to those who had signed up on the job search portal. The defendant had divided the list of numbers and dates among himself in order to address as many people as possible.

The defendant would take 1,900 rupees from the users for registration and another 4,500 rupees to prepare the documents. The money will then be transferred to the defendants’ bank accounts. As soon as the money was received, they were nowhere to be found.

Most of the accused are from Ghaziabad, but directed the operations from Noida. The police seized 13 computers, 17 SIM cards, 2 laptops and 17 walkie-talkies as well as a POS machine.

Two other people who are also involved in the fraud are currently fleeing, the police said.
