Posital presents programmable position sensors / encoders at PACK EXPO Las Vegas

Finding exactly the right position sensor for a particular packaging application, but with Postal‘s programmable rotary encoder, users have an inexpensive and convenient way to configure sensors to deliver exactly what they need.

With programmable IXARC encoders, important performance features such as resolution, communication interfaces and measuring ranges can be set up using firmware updates without mechanical changes. This helps users fine-tune their devices for optimal performance. It also benefits dealers and machine builders who can reduce their parts inventories and still offer a wide range of performance features. PostalThe UBIFAST programming tool offers an easy-to-use wireless interface for performing software updates.

To the PostalProgrammable incremental encoders, resolution (between one and 16384 pulses per revolution), direction and communication interface drivers (HTL or TTL) can all be defined via software parameters. In the case of absolute encoders with analog interfaces, their outputs – current or voltage – can be “scaled” so that a specified mechanical movement range (from fractions of a revolution to several hundred revolutions) can be set over the entire electrical output range, thereby increasing the accuracy for easy analog control systems is greatly improved.

PACK EXPO Las Vegas and EXPO for packaging for the healthcare sector (September 27-29, Las Vegas Convention Center) will reunite the packaging and processing community. With over 1,400 exhibitors, no other event in 2021 will bring together a more comprehensive gathering of vendors offering new products, technologies and solutions. Participant registration is now open minded.
