PSP: Do not try to park at the airport during this holiday season
Palm Springs International Airport expects a very busy Christmas season. Thanksgiving passenger numbers exceeded 2019 numbers by more than 25%, and airport parking was at capacity, according to a press release. Airport officials predict that Christmas and New Years holidays will be even busier.
PS International Airport has provided the following information / tips for holidaymakers:
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, all parking spaces at PSP were full due to the sharp increase in departing passengers. The airport encourages Christmas and New Years travelers to use alternative modes of transport such as a taxi or Uber / Lyft to get to the airport. Those planning to fly from PSP can monitor the airport’s Facebook and Twitter accounts for parking updates by looking for their handle @flyPSP on both platforms.
What To Do Before You Arrive At PSP:
Pack a mask: Federal law requires all travelers to wear a face mask in all interior terminal areas and on their flight. Passengers without a mask will be denied entry beyond the security checkpoint.
TSA 3-1-1 Rule: As a temporary exception to their “3-1-1” rule (no liquids over 3.4 oz. In carry-on baggage), the TSA allows an oversized container for liquid hand sanitizer up to 12 ounces each Passenger in hand luggage.
Download your airline’s app and check in before heading to the PSP. If you don’t check in baggage, you can skip the ticket office. It can also reduce your time at the counter when you need to check in baggage.
Monitor the status of your flight before heading to the PSP and check the travel time so you get there on time.

PSP recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before departure. This gives you enough time for parking, baggage screening and security screening.
