Chhattisgarh chief secretary Amitabh Jain on Thursday urged senior officials from various departments to ensure swift action on traffic noise cases through virtual courts in all districts.
Jain chaired a meeting of senior officials, including the Director-General of Police, and said the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court gave orders to the government to allocate the necessary resources to resolve the traffic-sound cases through virtual courts.
He called for information to be collected on the agreements reached with the banks, in which traffic cases would be resolved in the virtual courts. Banks should be identified where they are willing to install point-of-sale (POS) machines for minimum fees.
Police Director-General Ashok Juneja provided information on police preparations for redress cases through virtual courts. He said police officers would receive the necessary training.
Traffic Commissioner Dipanshu Kabra said the system will be implemented in Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh in cooperation with various banks.
As a pilot project in Raipur, the traffic noise cases are billed via POS machines. It would also be extended to Rajnandgaon, Durg, Bastar and Surguja Divisions.
