REGO Payment Architectures, Inc. Announces Rick’s Joining
BLUE BELL, Pa., June 07, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — REGO Payment Architectures, Inc. (“REGO”) (OTCQB: RPMT) announced today that Rick Lane, a longtime advocate for technology policy and online child safety, this has been appointed to its Advisory Board.
Founded in 2008, REGO’s Digital Family Wallet technology is a Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) compliant solution to enable families to help their children manage budgets and track expenses. REGO’s flagship product, MazoolaSMwas developed for parents who wanted a way to enable their children to shop safely online and offline in our web-centric world and to teach financial education to children.
Given REGO’s commitment to empowering parents to manage their household budgets while helping their children shop safely online, it was a natural fit for Mr. Lane to join the Advisory Board and bring his extensive knowledge to REGO.

During a career spanning more than thirty years, Mr. Lane has been involved in nearly every state technology and privacy statute, including COPPA. He has also served on a variety of committees at the federal, state and local levels, including serving as a member of USTR’s joint government-private sector committee on e-commerce experts; the Federal Trade Commission Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security; and the Virginia Attorney General’s Online Child Safety Task Force. Mr. Lane has worked closely with Congress, the Federal Trade Commission and state legislatures on laws protecting children online, including federal statutes amending the Communications Decency Act (“CDA”) Section 230, the criminal and civil penalties of states against websites allows knowing facilitation of sex trafficking of minors.
“I look forward to bringing my public policy and business experiences to protect children online at REGO,” said Mr. Lane. “For too long companies have tried to build COPPA compliant features into existing products. What attracted me to work with REGO is that at the start of this new phase of online and offline digital commerce, REGO built their digital wallet from the ground up to be COPPA and GDPR compliant. Providing parents with easy-to-use digital financial applications that help them protect their children’s privacy is a must,” Lane continued.
“We are honored to have Mr. Lane join our advisory board and appreciate the business acumen and strong commitment to child protection he brings to REGO. We look forward to working with him to provide children with a safer environment to transact in the digital economy,” said Peter S. Pelullo, REGO’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Lane has earned the trust of numerous online child safety experts, including Hemu Nigam, former Head of Safety at News Corp. and MySpace and a leading expert in online child protection.
“Mr. Lane has been at the forefront of some of the cutting edge challenges parents and children face online, and in each case has brought a keen sense of how to couple technology with policy and actionable solutions,” said Hemu Nigam, CEO of Cyber Security Matters.
Lauren Hersh, National Director of World Without Exploitation, said: “Rick’s ability to understand the importance of protecting children in this new digital world is second to none. His insights into the merging of technology and public policy have been invaluable to our efforts to protect children.”
Dawn Hawkins, CEO of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, one of the leading child safety groups, stated, “We continually rely on Rick’s technology policies and business expertise in our endeavors. His ability to take complex technology policy issues and make them understandable has been incredibly helpful in our efforts to create safer online spaces. He will be a great asset to REGO.”
