Sandy Springs residents can view the North End’s revitalization plans
Sandy Springs residents can ask questions about proposed changes to the city’s development law during an open house on November 4th to aid the North End’s revitalization plan.
City officials will answer questions at Lost Corner Preserve, 7300 Brandon Mill Road in Sandy Springs, Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. No formal presentation will be made, but the public can review the refurbishment proposals.
With the help of an appointed task force, the city council and its advisors drew up the North End revitalization plan with conceptual master plans for four shopping centers. The market conditions were used to perform an economic analysis and determine the financial feasibility for each plan. Apartment types were taken into account at different price points.
The four shopping center locations used in the study included:
North River Village Mall, 8765-8897 Roswell Road
River Springs Mall (formerly Loehmann’s Plaza), 8610 Roswell Road
Northridge Mall, 8331-8371 Roswell Road
North Springs Mall (formerly Big Lots Center), 7300 Roswell Road
To make these suggestions possible, the study suggested potential zoning changes that would be required for each of the lots.
The aim of the study was to identify a path developers could take to re-create the four properties that they would make best use of.
