St. Philippskirche in search of Christmas market treasures

LOVE SUN SPOTS: St. Philip Church at 2365 Turner Road in Auburn is celebrating Christmas at The Lake Fair on Saturday, November 20th. We are looking for donations of items for the Hidden Treasures booth.

The submission times for donations are on Saturday, October 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th as well as November 6th and 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. after Sunday mass. These are the only times we accept items.

In order to ensure cleanliness and to protect the health of our volunteers, please refrain from donating the following items: Used fabric scraps, blinds, blinds, curtains, clothing, electronics, broken or soiled objects, tapes, records, used or partially burned candles , Bedding, soiled or stained tablecloths, dusty or dirty glass / dishes, broken or soiled toys, used medical equipment, tires, items stored or wrapped in damp or moldy boxes, including books, obsolete or unsafe cots or car seats, and large, bulky items Furniture.

LOVE SUNSETS: My sister and I would like to donate clothing and other household items to Maine Catholic Charities for Refugees from Afghanistan. Do you have a direct contact number for the organization? It would be our day to know that we have some way of helping newcomers to Maine. – No name, no city

ANSWERS: The organization’s website https://www.ccmaine.org/) states that they cannot accept donations of clothing, difficult-to-touch goods, or furniture because their storage space is full. They accept gift cards, especially for use in Walmart and Hannaford stores.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to inform you that the problem with my credit card company has been resolved. The charges on my card were not mine. I had called twice, but succeeded in writing a carefully worded letter. I just got the message that everything is settled and I won’t be billed for anything.
