This is how I manage my shopping list in Reminders without even touching the iPhone
The typical shopping list for going to the supermarket it’s something we all have. And if you are one of those who have already left the notes to write down, surely you have written them down on your iPhone. There are countless ways to do this, and more than one specific application for it.
I also have this shopping list on my iPhone and I change it several times a day, but what if I told you this I don’t use an iPhone for this? Thanks to the integration of all Apple devices and systems, it is possible.
Leave your iPhone in your pocket when you go to the supermarket
Apple has said it a few times, and in a world of hyperstimulation it’s becoming increasingly important: the best technology is the one that does what you ask it to do to go unnoticed. And in this particular case of the grocery list, once you have all the (pun intended) ingredients, it’s easy to achieve.
What I do is have a list called “Purchase” in the Reminders app, manipulable from any Apple device. To add items to this list, just say “Hey Siri, add tomato to shopping list”. A pair of HomePod mini speakers that can take the order from every corner of my house easily adds this ingredient to the list.
The good thing is that I can add items to the shopping list Just when I realize I have to buy them, avoiding the thought “well, I’ll write it down later” and forgetting about it completely. Even the mention indicates that.
I don’t even have to take my iPhone out of my pocket in the supermarket: I have a shortcut to the list on my Apple Watch which I can access quickly, which is especially useful when I need to fetch things and lug the cart. In the watch itself, I can cross out anything I add.
The list is on the iPhone, but I don’t need to use it at all to be able to add and delete items on the list. Best of all, it syncs to iCloud, saves the history of things you’ve bought (or you can delete it if you want), and you don’t have to pay a subscription for it.
