One of the largest Class A office buildings in Tulsa has a new owner.
The local Transformation Church has purchased the Unit Corporation building, 8200 S. Unit Drive, for $ 35 million.
Newmark Robinson Park realtors Rick Guild, Dilon Argo and Brad Rice handled the sale of the energy company’s 196,350 square foot corporate headquarters. The company that developed the construction in 2016 will remain a significant tenant of the building.
The sale of the six-story tower enabled Unit to pay off its debts and provide additional liquidity for high-yielding opportunities, said unit chairman and CEO Philip B. Smith.
Unit announced a little over a year ago that it had emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
“The sale of the headquarters building further strengthens our financial position,” Smith said in a statement.
KKT Architects designed the building, which includes a conference center with cliff windows, a security room and a four-story parking garage that is connected to the building by a closed corridor.
Husband and Wife’s senior pastors, Michael and Natalie Todd, took over the operations of Transformation Church in 2015 from its founder, Bishop Gary McIntosh, who led the Church for 15 years. As the church has grown in recent years, it has expanded its real estate portfolio.
